Lillybelle Eisele

Lillybelle is a curious and driven student currently pursuing her Master’s degree in International Development. As a fierce journalist and passionate language enthusiast, she is always keen on attentively listening to her vis-à-vis. Her fluency in seven languages allows her to present the stories of her interviewees from diverse perspectives. Each new language she learns offers unique insights into the customs and traditions of a society and promotes her understanding of the importance of intercultural communication.
Focusing on conflict and peacebuilding, Lillybelle is dedicated to writing for the Madarat Blog. She finds Iraq to be an intriguing country for uncovering profound social phenomena and discovering hidden protagonists willing to share their personal stories. Through her keen senses and storytelling abilities, she brings to life unexpected encounters and vividly portrays the everyday experiences — both joyous and challenging — of life in Iraq. The short stories and portraits, published periodically, vividly illustrate the human experiences that are essential to Madarat's mission.
